And assuming i know ANYTHING about antimissile im carry 1 or 2 smartbombs in the first place, using which will obliterate ALL of said torpedoes as i can activate fast enough to destroy each "wave" of torpedoes before they can hit me. Oh and with EM harderner + invul + shield booster i take next to no dmg while doing it? Is it so DARN HARD TO FIGURE OUT.
Missiles do the least dmg over time of any weapon in the game. And have the slowest ROF (excepting if u spent the time to get BB 5 which many people dont or havent had enough time to do) of any weapon in the game, and are the only destroyable ammo in the game, and are the slowest moving weapon in the game, and COST THE MOST PER SHOT (like 13k vs less than 100 a unit for best torp vs best proj/hybrid ammo). And any competent pilot (we arent considering nublar's in BBs here now) will survive even salvoes of torps while blowing you a new one with his 1400s or tachyons at 70+k (even out to 200k in the case of certain Tempest setups, scary thought isnt it) and is hitting for more dmg/time and in a lot of cases for more dmg a HIT. Can a missile do 1000+ dmg in a hit? Can a frigate with 1 or 2 mwds outrun everything a BB has on it? Heck if a BB doesnt have drones or a smartbomb a frigate running an mwd/neutron orbiting setup can destroy it as long as he doesnt run out of ammo, and give that he can stash several thousand rounds he should be able to stay in the fight a long time.
So how does this make missiles too good? Lets do some simple analysis here. (this does not count neutron blasters as they dont count in any calculation)
Small Weapons: Best dmg/time Missiles (Cruise, possibly heavy, cost per shot 500-5k) Medium Weapons: Best dmg/time Projectile followed very closely by lasers (Missiles are actually the worst dmg/time in the medium category) Large Weapons: Best dmg/time Proj/Tachy
Now while missiles desperately need a speed upgrade in the case of light and hvy missiles (a torp should not go faster than both), and cruise, torps, and hvys could use a dmg boost (up to 2-4x in the case of torps) claiming that one ship (the kestrel) is the bane of all because it can launch cruise missiles is a load of horse****. I can do more dmg in a punisher running neutrons and mwds than a kestrel can. And the cruise missiles will never get close to me. But no one says anything about neutron blasters do they? No. Because most people dont know how to set up a ship to take advantage of the weaponry in game. Do the math, fly around, get experience with the setups and you'll find out im right. To a battleship a thorax with neutrons is scary if it gets up close and starts mwd/orbiting. It gets even worse when said thorax is carrying "named" neutrons.
Face the facts. If anything, missiles need to be made MORE POWERFUL. Not weaker. Missiles are quite weak atm, and really not a threat to most pilots. Especially since u can warp away from missiles.
